Day 271 of 366: A Morning Surprise at Werri Beach

I had every intention of sleeping in this morning, but sometimes nature has a different plan. Just after waking up, my dog needed to go outside, and as I let him out, I caught a glimpse of something magical—a hint of colour emerging in the sky. In that instant, I knew I couldn’t miss the opportunity.

The Quick Dash to the Beach

Within five minutes, I had changed and was out the door, heading straight for Werri Beach. The timing couldn’t have been better. I arrived just a few minutes before sunrise, with the ocean stretching out before me and a hint of gold in the sky.

Capturing the Moment

I quickly launched my drone, eager to capture the first rays of light as they crested over the horizon. What followed was one of those fleeting yet breathtaking moments when the sun broke through the clouds, casting golden beams across the sea. The rays danced on the surface of the water, creating a serene and dramatic scene that felt like a reward for getting out of bed.

Reflecting on Nature’s Unpredictability

This morning’s spontaneous adventure was a reminder that the best moments in nature are often unplanned. There’s a thrill in the unpredictability, in being ready to capture the beauty of a day that begins with golden light streaming through dark clouds.

Sometimes, it’s not about planning the perfect shot but being present for the ones that unfold naturally—this morning was exactly that.
