Day 19: Dawn's Display at Boat Harbour

The age-old adage proved true on Day 19 of my photographic journey: the early bird does indeed catch the worm, or in my case, a breathtaking sunrise at Boat Harbour in Gerringong. Before the sun had even peeked above the horizon, the high clouds scattered across the sky hinted at the spectacle that was about to unfold.

Compelled by the promise of a magnificent dawn, I made my way to the south of the boat ramp, near the remnants of the old men's pool. As the sky erupted in a symphony of colours, decision paralysis struck me—every angle was a potential masterpiece. However, I soon found my focus just past the old pool remains, where the water resting atop the rocks served as a mirror to the fiery heavens above.

In an effort to do justice to the expansive beauty before me, I combined two photos to capture the full essence of the scene. The result was a panorama that not only showcased the vibrant reflections but also encompassed the grandeur of the sunrise in a single frame.

This morning's shoot was a reminder of nature's effortless artistry and the ever-changing canvas it offers to those willing to rise with the birds. Join me as I continue to seek out these fleeting moments of glory, capturing the world in its most extraordinary light.
