Day 164 of 366: Capturing the Beauty of Cathedral Rock and The Boneyard
A Day of Changing Weather: Today was a day of experiencing all seasons on the South Coast. The morning started off windy, followed by heavy rain at lunchtime, and finally, the sun broke through in the afternoon as the wind subsided. After a busy day at my exhibition, I decided to make the most of the clear evening by heading to Cathedral Rock in Kiama to capture some drone shots.
Exploring New Angles: After photographing Cathedral Rock, I flew my drone south towards The Boneyard, capturing some of the beautiful bays along the way. As the sun began to set, the sky transformed into shades of orange and pink, providing a stunning backdrop for my shots. The changing light added a dynamic element to the landscape, making each shot unique.
Post-Processing Magic: Back home, I started sorting and editing my images. One shot, in particular, caught my eye—a stunning bay between Cathedral Rock and The Boneyard. The striking blue water contrasted beautifully with the brown rocks and lush green flora, creating a captivating image. This photo stood out not only for its vibrant colours but also for the intricate textures and natural beauty it showcased.
Reflections and Future Plans: Today's shoot reminded me of the endless photographic opportunities along the South Coast. The area between Cathedral Rock and The Boneyard has many intriguing subjects that deserve further exploration. I plan to return soon to capture more of this beautiful landscape in greater detail.
