Ghost Gums by Night.

from $330.00

Location: Lake Mulwala

During my journey to the Great Ocean Road in 2012, I happened upon the mesmerising Lake Mulwala at Yarrawonga/Mulwala, right on the border of New South Wales and Victoria. As I drove past, the striking sight of the majestic dead river gums standing in this artificial lake left an indelible impression. I knew, in that moment, that I had to return to capture the ethereal beauty of this unique landscape.

Returning in 2022 to photograph this location I opted for a nocturnal adventure, I patiently waited until late at night, yearning for the clouds to disperse and unveil the starry canvas above. It was under the celestial glow of the Milky Way that I orchestrated a photographic masterpiece, utilising the soft illumination from streetlights to cast an otherworldly glow upon the ghostly river gums. The result was a captivating fusion of natural and artificial light, transforming the scene into a hauntingly beautiful composition that echoed the silent serenity of the night.
