The Unexpected Delight

Mornings on the farm are predictably busy, but today’s milking session ended with an unexpected and delightful twist. As I stepped outside, the remnants of a light morning shower mingled with the sun’s early rays, setting the stage for nature’s splendid spectacle—a rainbow.

Capturing the Moment

The rainbow began to take form, its vivid colours arching boldly against the dark, storm-laden sky to the south. The contrast was striking—the brilliant hues of the rainbow set against the ominous grey of the impending storm. It was a moment of pure magic, one that demanded to be captured.

The Chase

With camera in hand, I chased the rainbow’s arc, seeking the perfect vantage point to capture its full glory. The end of the rainbow, where it seemed to touch the ground, was particularly intense, glowing against the darkened backdrop of the hills and forest. This play of light and shadow, colour and darkness, was a photographer’s dream.
