Day 46: Aerial Panorama at the Boneyard
The allure of the Boneyard had called to me many times, yet the weather had never been in my favour—until today. With conditions finally aligning, overcast skies above and crystal-clear waters below, the stage was set for an exceptional day of drone photography. I met with a friend, equally eager to capture the beauty of this coastal gem..
The calm weather was an invitation to explore the bay's entirety, and I accepted by attempting an ambitious top-down panorama. Manoeuvring the drone in a precise horizontal plane, I sought to stitch together the vast expanse of the Boneyard's aquatic canvas.
The bird's-eye view revealed the intricate dance between sea and shore—a harmonious blend of textures, from the rugged outlines of rocks to the gentle gradients of the seabed. The overcast light diffused softly, allowing the water's hues to shine without the glare of direct sunlight, highlighting the submerged world in all its clarity.
The result was a visual feast, a sweeping view of the Boneyard that told a story of tranquillity and untouched splendour. The panoramic approach captured the bay's grandeur in a way that a single frame could not, providing a comprehensive portrait of this coastal haven.
This first successful foray to the Boneyard has only whet my appetite for more. The promise of returning to this location is filled with the potential for new discoveries and compositions. Day 46 of my photographic journey has been a testament to patience and the rewards that come with persistence. The Boneyard, in its serene beauty, awaits my next visit, and I am all too ready to answer its call once more.
