Day 332 of 366 - Sunrise over Gerringong

Early mornings have a special allure, especially when nature decides to paint the horizon with an exceptional palette. Today was one of those mornings that inspired me to leap out of bed and grab my drone. The forecast hinted at clear skies, but what greeted me was far more enchanting—a thick sea mist and a sunrise that resembled a fiery ball ascending the horizon.

As I launched the drone from the hillside overlooking Gerringong, the scene unfolded spectacularly. The mist, driven by the early sea breeze, rolled over the landscape like a gentle tide, enveloping the town in a soft, mysterious embrace. Above, the sky blazed with hues of orange and red, casting a warm glow that contrasted starkly with the cool mist below.

This morning's flight was not just about capturing a beautiful sunrise; it was about witnessing the interaction between land, sea, and sky. The mist, common in these parts as the ocean meets the warmer land, added a dreamlike quality to the scene. It’s these natural phenomena that remind us of the ever-changing beauty of our world, constantly shaped by the elements.

Photographing Gerringong from above provided a unique perspective on this familiar place. It allowed me to appreciate the interplay of light, shadow, and texture in a way that ground-based photography couldn’t capture. The drone hovered quietly, almost respectfully, as the sun crowned the horizon and the day began anew.

This image is a testament to the unexpected moments of beauty that await us when we choose to wake up and witness the world in motion. It's a reminder of why I cherish these early hours—there’s something profoundly hopeful about watching a new day unfold from such a grand vantage point.

Join me in celebrating the serene and spectacular start to the day, and remember, each sunrise brings a promise of new beginnings and fresh perspectives.
