Day 171 of 366: A Cairns Sunset to Remember
A Serene Arrival in Cairns:
After a very early start and a long flight from Sydney, my first day in Cairns wrapped up beautifully with a stunning sunset over the inlet. Cairns, known for its vibrant sunsets and tranquil seaside ambiance, did not disappoint.
Capturing the Sunset:
The setting was picturesque with the sky transitioning through a palette of warm colors. As the sun dipped below the horizon, it cast a soft pink hue across the sky, reflecting beautifully on the calm waters of the inlet. Positioned perfectly along the shoreline, I managed to capture this serene moment, emphasizing the silhouettes of the cityscape against the vivid backdrop.
The Magic of Post-Processing:
Upon returning to my accommodation, I couldn’t wait to see the captured images. A quick session in Lightroom brought out the rich colors and details of the sunset. Adjusting the exposure and enhancing the colors slightly, I was able to preserve the natural beauty of the scene while highlighting the gentle gradients in the sky.
Reflecting on the Day:
This first evening in Cairns reminded me of the quiet power of nature and its ability to calm the mind. The gentle lapping of the water and the striking sunset provided a perfect counterbalance to the day’s travel.
