Day 162 of 366: Exploring Texture and Colour at Werri Beach
A Change in Plans: After a day of sitting at my exhibition, I was eager to head out and capture today's shot. I had a specific image in mind, but recent rains thwarted my original plan. Adapting to the circumstances, I decided to head back to Werri Beach. However, this time I wanted to try something different. My fascination with the textures and colours of the rock platform inspired me to use the drone for a new perspective.
Discovering a New Perspective: The rock platforms at Werri Beach have always intrigued me. Photographing them from the ground often reveals intricate patterns and vibrant hues, but today I aimed to explore these elements from above. Launching the drone, I was excited to capture top-down shots that would offer a fresh view of the landscape.
Capturing the Shot: As I navigated the drone over the rock platform, the textures and colours began to reveal themselves in a way I hadn't seen before. The aerial perspective allowed me to capture the intricate lines and shapes carved by nature. One shot, in particular, stood out. It was a close-up of the rocks, emphasizing the interplay of colours and textures, transforming the familiar into the unfamiliar by removing any sense of scale.
The Editing Process: Back at home, I began the editing process. As I reviewed the images, the close-up shot of the rock platform leapt out at me. The absence of scale made the patterns and colours more abstract, inviting viewers to explore the image deeply. Using Adobe Lightroom, I enhanced the natural colours and contrasts to bring out the intricate details. The final image was both striking and mesmerizing, turning a simple rock platform into a captivating piece of art.
Reflection on the Day's Work: Today's shoot reminded me of the importance of adaptability and the value of exploring different perspectives. The rain may have disrupted my original plan, but it led to a discovery that I might have otherwise missed. Using the drone opened up new possibilities, allowing me to see and capture the landscape in a unique way. This experience reinforced the idea that sometimes, the best images come from moments of spontaneity and adaptation.
I'm thrilled to share this unique perspective with you all. Please take a moment to view the photos and comment below to let me know what you see in the textures and colours. How do these abstract patterns make you feel? Your insights and thoughts always inspire me to see my work through new eyes.
